St. Richard’s Episcopal School provides a timeless, challenging curriculum that embraces diversity while developing global citizens socially, emotionally, physically, spiritually, and intellectually. For children Age 3 through 8th grade.

 Located at the corner of 33rd and Meridian Street in Indianapolis, we provide a rigorous academic curriculum that incorporates three world languages, public speaking and leadership opportunities, a strong fine arts program, organized athletics, and city-wide experiences that bring learning to life. We serve Early Childhood, Elementary, and Middle School aged students.

St. Richard’s Episcopal School has received a $6,000,000 grant from Lilly Endowment Inc. through its Marion County K-12 Private Schools Initiative. This is one of 34 large-scale implementation grants being awarded through phase 3 of the initiative, which is designed to help strengthen the academic achievement of students in Indianapolis and improve their prospects for success after high school. 

First Black chess grandmaster visits St. Richard’s Episcopal School

The first Black international chess grandmaster, Maurice Ashley, visited St. Richard’s Episcopal School Students last week. Ashley is one of a few special guests to spend time with St. Richard’s students in honor of Black History Month. English teacher and chair of the Faculty DEIB Committee, Alyssa Stewart, said St. Richard’s specializes in hands-on and engaging curriculum, especially during cultural awareness months.

The Tragedy of the Phone-Based Childhood is an Urgent Call We Must Answer

Students today need help like never before. A growing body of research–most prominently summarized in Jonathan Haidt’s recent book, The Anxious Generation–shows how smartphones and social media negatively affect children’s academic performance, cognitive development, and mental health. The science is compelling. This moment offers a meaningful opportunity for schools and parents to work together to thwart a persistent threat to our kids’ education and well-being.
