Lower Division Teacher
As a Lower Division Lead Teacher, you will have the opportunity to inspire and educate students in a dynamic and inclusive environment. You'll teach math, science, language arts, and social studies to a homeroom of Grade 1-4 students, assessing progress, providing feedback, and fostering a classroom where all students thrive. You will utilize innovative teaching strategies and work collaboratively with staff to ensure student success and engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide instruction in core subjects: math, science, language arts, and social studies.
- Assess student progress and communicate effectively with students and families.

Qualifications

Early Childhood Classroom Assistant
Overview
St. Richard’s is currently seeking to employ a full-time Early Childhood Teaching assistant. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:45 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. This person fulfills the primary expectations:
- Assists and supports overall learning objectives and experiences as directed by the classroom teacher
- Works individually and in small groups with students as directed by classroom teacher
- Has an understanding and experience with early childhood development
- Has a sensitivity and knowledge of the needs of a diverse community and the ability and commitment to work effectively with students, parents, teachers, and other stakeholders from diverse backgrounds
- Has a positive, respectful, and effective approach to classroom management
- Prepares for documentation and display of student work
- Prepares materials for designed learning activities
- Provides administrative support for classroom teacher as requested
- Provides supervision for student lunches, special classes, dismissal, and/or recesses as scheduled
- Serves as a substitute teacher as requested by the division head and teacher

Teaching Assistants
Teaching assistants, a full-time position with a competitive salary, work in cooperation with the lead teacher to implement St. Richard’s classic curriculum. The curriculum promotes the social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development of students. Under the guidance of the lead teacher, teaching assistants are responsible for supervising children throughout the day, assisting the lead teacher, supporting classroom instruction, preparing the classroom environment and materials for lessons and other assigned tasks. Substitute Teachers
St. Richard's is always seeking professional individuals, preferably with teaching experience and knowledge of working with children, to be included on the roster of substitute teachers or as assistant teachers. Licensed Bus Driver
St. Richard's is hiring licensed bus drivers to help transport students during the school and after school to field experiences and athletic events. Apply and direct questions to Ms. Linda Chestnut.
Position Summary
- Part-time, as needed (averages bout 2-3 trips weekly during the 36-week school session). Some summer hours are also available.
- Safely operate a school bus/special purpose bus for activities such as field trips and athletic events. Observe legal and defensive driving practices. Observe and obey speed limits. Drive efficiently and courteously on all roadways as directed, in all weather conditions.
- Ensure the safety of all children and other authorized passengers while riding, as well as when entering and exiting the bus. Attend to any special needs of your passengers. Ensure the safety of those around you and the vehicle. Always be courteous and professional.
- Know and apply safe driving techniques and requirements. Have knowledge of limitations and provisions of the DOT regulations, which pertain to the operation of commercial passenger transportation vehicles.
- Maintain cleanliness of vehicle according to school policy.
- Perform pre-/post-trip inspections, including interior and exterior of vehicle, including the engine compartment according to school policy.
- Use only federally compliant devices for outside communication (hands-free Bluetooth or radio devices). Do not text or otherwise use a cell phone during the operation of a school bus or other vehicle.
- Report promptly to work. Call to notify supervisor if unable to drive, allowing adequate time to find alternate transportation.
- Maintain a driving record free of all major traffic citations, including no major "at fault" vehicle accidents. Report any moving or seat belt violations in a personal auto to safety immediately.
- Report any concerns of abuse and/or neglect immediately to appropriate authorities.
- Perform other work as assigned.
Basic Qualifications
- 2+ years previous experience in passenger transportation or similar field preferred.
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- A valid Class B commercial driver's license with appropriate passenger transport endorsement. Evidence of a good driving record is required.
- Must have and maintain a DOT medical card.
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- Must possess and exhibit effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be able to drive in various weather conditions.
Auxiliary Program Coordinator
Overview
St. Richard’s Episcopal School is seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Auxiliary Programming Coordinator to support our extended day, holiday, and summer programs. This full-time, 12-month position involves engaging with children in Grades PK–8, working collaboratively with a dedicated team to create and facilitate enriching activities, assist with homework, and ensure a safe, nurturing, and character-driven environment for our students. The expected salary range for this position is $35,000 - $40,000, commensurate with experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Program Development: Plan, organize, and facilitate a variety of daily enrichment and academic activities, including arts, sports, science and homework assistance.
- Data Management: Assist with scheduling, inputting student data and payments, and tracking site-specific records and schedules.
- Team Collaboration: Assist with supervision and support part-time staff, ensuring a cohesive approach to student engagement.
- Student Supervision: With a team, supervise up to 125 children during daily programs, fostering a positive and inclusive atmosphere.
- Character Development: Model and guide students in character development through daily interactions and activities.
- Safety and Maintenance: Ensure all spaces and materials are well-maintained and adhere to safety procedures.
- Customer Service: Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and visitors, providing information and resolving issues as needed.
- Emergency Preparedness: Provide first aid and CPR as necessary, maintaining a safe and clean work environment.
- Promotional Support: Assist in the preparation and distribution of promotional materials for programs and events.
- Professional Development: Attend meetings and trainings to enhance skills and knowledge related to the role.
- Additional Duties: Perform other related tasks as required.
Desired Qualifications and Skills St. Richard’s prefers candidates with at least an associate’s degree in education, recreation management, early childhood education, or a related field, alongside a diverse range of experiences and skills:
- Proficiency in typing, internet navigation, Google Sheets, Word, and Excel.

School Counselor
Overview
St. Richard’ s Episcopal School seeks a school counselor to serve grades PreK through Grade 8. The position is full-time (Monday through Friday, 7:45 a.m. to 3:45 p.m.) for the school year (10 months) and includes 5 days after the school year and 10 days prior to the start of the school year as well as evening and weekend responsibilities, as needed. The expected salary range for this position is $45,000-$60,000 commensurate with experience.
Desired Qualifications and Skills
The successful candidate will have:
- A license for Indiana School Counselor, School Social Worker, or equivalent mental health credentials.
- Knowledge of and/or experience with Comprehensive School Counseling Programs (Carrying the Torch to Student Success, ASCA RAMP, etc.), or competencies for accreditation as School Social Worker or other school mental health professional.
- A strong understanding of the unique needs of students across all divisions (Pre-K - grade 8).
- A sensitivity and knowledge of the needs of a diverse community and respect for cultural diversity with students, parents, teachers, and other stakeholders from diverse backgrounds.
- Experience establishing programs for training teachers, parents and students in areas of social-emotional understanding, growth and support.
- A desire to work collaboratively as a member of the St. Richard’ s community and Student Support Team to help students and colleagues.
- A positive and effective approach to classroom management.
- An ability to communicate effectively with the entire school community including students, colleagues, parents, support staff and administration.
- A willingness and the ability to engage in learning experiences beyond the classroom (including occasional nights and weekend events).
- Welcome ongoing conversations/discussions with students’ parents, colleagues, administrators, peers from other institutions, and professional networks.
- The ability to review and discuss all psycho-educational testing and collaborate with the student support team to ensure students needs are met to the best of our ability.
- Lead students and faculty to assess and proactively address social, emotional and behavioral issues that may arise within the school community.

About Horizons: Horizons at St. Richard’s Episcopal School is dedicated to reducing educational equity gaps in Indianapolis through a 6-week summer program and year-round, high-quality wrap-around programming for PreK-8 students. Our mission focuses on fostering academic, social-emotional, and physical growth while building strong, resilient students.
Position Overview: Horizons is seeking a Program Director to lead our summer and year-round programming. The Program Director will oversee logistics, enrollment efforts, data collection, family outreach, staff coordination, and community engagement while ensuring smooth operations.
You will be full-time, salaried member of a team working closely with the Executive Director to:
- Lead the development and execution of engaging year-round programming, including a 6-week summer program.
