Our Campus

St. Richard's Episcopal School was founded in 1960 and has grown in physical space over the years to accommodate growing enrollment. St. Richard’s and Trinity Episcopal Church share 100,000 square feet of space. In 2019, the school opened its newest addition along 33rd Street, with four spacious early childhood classrooms, two science labs, gender-neutral restrooms, and a flexible multi-use space.

St. Richard’s Episcopal School works diligently to ensure the physical, social, and emotional wellbeing of students.

Campus Safety

A Student Resource Officer from the Indianapolis Police Department is on duty daily, at all times when the campus is in use, before, during, and after school.
All access points to the school are gated and locked. Visitors must buzz in to enter and sign in.
At the conclusion of daily arrival and dismissal times, all exterior entry doors are locked.
Emergency Procedure Plans are posted in each classroom.
Fire and tornado drills are held regularly.
Several licensed School Safety Specialists on staff are kept up-to-date on best practices through the Indiana Department of Education and the Department of National Homeland Security.
Procedures are in place in the event of a lock-down, including means for contacting parents in case of such a situation.

Student Wellbeing

A licensed school counselor is employed by the school to focus on our students' social and emotional development and wellbeing.
Faculty and staff have regular meetings to discuss the social and emotional needs of each child, creating a safe social-emotional environment that is conducive to learning.
CPR training and certification are required yearly for faculty and staff.
School personnel are required to complete safeguarding training through Praesidium Academy.
A staff nurse is on campus during school hours to address minor injuries, distribute medications, and assess whether parents should be contacted in case of illness or injury.
