Middle Division (Grades 5-8)

It's no wonder administrators at local high schools are clamoring for St. Richard’s Episcopal School graduates. The foundational Early Childhood and Lower Division years propel our students into pivotal learning experiences and capstone projects that remain lifelong influences well beyond their Dragon years.

Advantages in Middle Division at St. Richard's

  1. As the "big kids" on campus, St. Richard's Middle Division students are given abundant leadership opportunities. They feel safe to try new things within a supportive community. They take on the role of mentors to younger students.
  2. The absence of older high school students allows for a more age-appropriate social environment, reducing exposure to some of the pressures and challenges that can arise in larger school settings. St. Richard's allows Middle Division students to explore and grow while still embracing childhood.
  3. Students benefit from an environment where they feel known and supported by faculty and staff, which is essential in the pre-teen and early teen years. They can grow into their authentic selves without competition from older students on campus and build confidence at a crucial time of childhood development in a familiar and loving environment.

I have had the pleasure of working with many outstanding graduates of St. Richard's Episcopal School. They are very well-prepared for the academic demands of high school. It is apparent that they have experienced academic rigor and deep, meaningful learning.
