Extended Day and Enrichment Offerings

St. Richard’s Episcopal School is committed to providing a variety of extended day and enrichment opportunities that expand and enrich student life outside the classroom.

Many, if not the majority, of our students remain at SRES beyond the end of the school day or arrive before the traditional start times. Extended day provides students a safe, comfortable, and familiar environment and opportunities for individual growth that are congruent with the school’s mission of instilling knowledge and values for a lifetime. Enrichment opportunities, such as private piano and karate lessons, are also available. Please check your Electronic Friday Folder for the link.

The program includes clubs and service opportunities that add to the overall educational experience. Programs are divided into two sections, one for Early Childhood and another for Lower and Middle Divisions.

  • Morning care is offered from 7:00 - 8:00 a.m. for $5 per day.
  • Aftercare is offered from 3:30 - 6:00 p.m. for $10 per day.
  • Full-time early childhood tuition includes the cost of before and aftercare.

Holiday Care

Our parents often need care for their children provided when school is not in session, and we provide a variety of ways to keep them engaged.

Early Childhood Extended Day

The Early Childhood extended day program is organized by day of the week and activity. The students rotate through stations that consist of an activity, a snack, and play time. On Mondays and Wednesdays, the focus is art-based, with students creating a designated craft as their activity. Tuesdays are for “tasting,” and the students cook foods/treats at an age-appropriate level. Thursdays are reserved for exposure to various activities such as swimming, tennis, dance, art. Every Friday, students participate in a variety of group games.

Lower and Middle Divisions Extended Day

Students are involved in less-structured activities, which include a snack, time to play on the playground or in the gymnasium, library/study opportunity, and clubs.

Enrichment Offerings

St. Richard's carefully chooses a wide variety of after-school opportunities that engage the diverse interests of our students. Registration for Early Childhood swim lessons can be accessed here. These enrichment activities involve contracts with outside sources and change each semester. Some examples: French, art and play, Crouching Tigers, gymnastics, karate, yoga, Harry Potter, and creative writing with Professor Watermelon.

Additional enrichment opportunities, such as private piano lessons, are also available for students at all grade levels. Please contact Mrs. Nikeesha Pittman with questions.
